A.P.S.
Mission Statement (FY 2004)
The Advanced Physics Software (APS) section of the CEPA department consists
of two groups:
- The Database Software (DBS) group
develops and supports applications
enabling the experiments and other FNAL groups to interact with databases.
This group also helps to establish and define schema for key databases.
- The Software Libraries Development (SLD) develops and supports
library and utility code, for use as building blocks for HEP user programs.
This group also provides expert design and language issue consultation to the
experiments and other FNAL groups.

Resources, Packages, and Links
- Zoom
ZOOM is a collection of C++ class library packages developed for
HEP (and originally specifically Run II) use. These include modules
for error logging, histograms/N-tuples, special functions, and others.
- CLHEP at FNAL -------
CLHEP available through ZOOM
CLHEP is a collection of C++ class library packages developed for
HEP by a worldwide collaboration, centered at CERN. These include
modules for 3- and 4-vectors, Matrix operations, representation of
particles, and others.
-
DBSMON Database Monitoring
A set of tools is provided for sophisticated
monitoring of
the performance and use patterns of databases used by Fermilab
experiments.
- BLASTMAN
A database containing information describing the FNAL Accelerator,
including magnet properties and device positions for each device in the
lattice.
- TOSCA
Support for the commercial product TOSCA/OPERA by Vector Fields.
